Make your own sourdough bread workshop
Learn how to make your own sourdough bread and leave with a sourdough starter.
Baking your own bread is delicious and is a great way to reduce single-use plastic at home.
This beginners sourdough class will introduce you to the process of making sourdough, with the hands on opportunity to try the different techniques in a safe and supportive environment.
You will leave with a sourdough dough ready bake at home the following day, your own starter so you can continue your journey and access to detailed class booklet.
Not suitable for people with gluten allergies.
Please bring along to class:
- A medium size bowl to take home your loaf in (think individual pasta bowl approx 20 cm in diameter, not a mixing bowl)
- A medium sized jar with lid to take home your starter
- An apron because we will be covered in flour
- A clean tea towel
Ideally, you will have a round dutch oven approx 23 cm in diameter (or ceramic round casserole dish with lid) at home to bake your bread in. Don’t bring it to class.
If you don't, see if you can borrow one from a friend. Don't worry if you can't get your hands on one as Amy will teach you two ways to cook your bread.
See picture below of what to bring. The beans are just for a size reference.
