(These days are a REPEAT of the Chemical World 1 day which I held in October which a lot of families missed out on and asked me to repeat the days so that their children did not miss out)

Ages: Stage 4 – Years 7/8 - Ages 11 to 14

Location: 33 Wycombe Road Terrigal

Cost: $50 per student

Pencil Case with pens, pencils, ruler etc.

All food and drink for themselves for the day (no peanuts, eggs or allergens)

Science 7-10 Syllabus Material Covered:

Chemical World

A student:

describes the observed properties and behaviour of matter, using scientific models and theories about the motion and arrangement of particles SC4-16CW

explains how scientific understanding of, and discoveries about, the properties of elements, compounds and mixtures relate to their uses in everyday life SC4-17CW

Related Life Skills outcomes: SCLS-22CW, SCLS-23CW

CW1 The properties of the different states of matter can be explained in terms of the motion and arrangement of particles. (ACSSU151)

  1. describe the behaviour of matter in terms of particles that are continuously moving and interacting
  2. relate an increase or decrease in the amount of heat energy possessed by particles to changes in particle movement
  3. use a simple particle model to predict the effect of adding or removing heat on different states of matter
  4. relate changes in the physical properties of matter to heat energy and particle movement that occur during observations of evaporation, condensation, boiling, melting and freezing
  5. explain density in terms of a simple particle model
  6. identify the benefits and limitations of using models to explain the properties of solids, liquids and gases

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Email me at jacob@makesciencefun.com.au or call me on 0422 883 255

What's the refund policy?

Generally no refunds - If you find you can't make the event, the ticket is transferable so you can on-sell the ticket. Contact me before the event and I may be able to find someone who wants to purchase your ticket.

No need to print the ticket

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

That's fine

Can parents stay for the day and participate?

No, this is a student only event. I am planning events in the future which will involve parents, such as a fossil hunt / geology day and a marine platform day
