Make and Create - Library Sewing Station
Book a free sewing machine. An on site expert can offer light guidance if needed.
Don’t have a sewing machine at home? Whether you’re a confident mender or keen to learn the basics, the monthly Library Sewing Station at Ashfield Library is here for you.
Book a free 1 hour session to use our sewing machines, and bring your garment for simple repairs like taking up a hem or sewing on a patch. Basic materials will be available (such as thread, pins and scissors), and a friendly Sewing Supervisor will be on hand to ensure safety and offer light guidance.
This is not a structured class or alterations service, but rather a welcoming, DIY space where you can get things done, pick up some tips, and practise sustainability through saving your treasured items.
Runs 5pm-7pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month, except during school holidays. Tickets are released 14 days before the event.
