Mahjong for Beginners
Overview

Learn how to play mahjong in this introductory workshop with mahjong master Allen Ling.

In this two-hour session, you will be taught the rules of mahjong, an ancient Chinese game of skill, strategy and luck. Learn how to read and recognise all the tile pieces and and how to build a winning hand as Allen shares some basic mahjong strategies you can use.

About the presenter

Allen Ling is a Mahjong tournament director, running Mahjong tournaments all around Australia. He won the Australian championship mahjong tournament in 2011 and again in 2015 and reached runner up in 2017. Allen also teaches Mahjong courses at the North Sydney Community Centre for varying levels of experience as well as for both eastern and western style mahjong.

Accessibility

This event will be held in the Conference Room on Level 2 and is accessible for people using mobility aids via lift.
