The larger format of a magnum allows for the slower maturation in the bottle, resulting in a wine with more freshness, complexity, and longevity. We will be pouring an outstanding selection of magnums from the greatest names in Australian and New Zealand wine, classic vintages from the superstars of their respective regions. While rare to find in a bottle, these treasures in magnum are even rarer still.
This will be the first of series of dinners featuring magnum wines from our extensive cellar.

About the venue
Baedeker is a captivating heritage-listed building located in Fortitude Valley. Once a working inner-city flour mill, later an airforce army barracks and today, Baedeker is an old-world inspired wine bar – a hidden gem of Fortitude Valley. Built in 1909, our walls hold many stories, many memories, but also a magical space we hope will inspire you to make your own.
The Cellar is a prohibition inspired hideaway, concealed behind a rotating bookcase. A space to indulge; enjoy an intimate wine dinner with friends, family or colleagues with a private dining experience. A rustic table built in the room with 5m long single lengths of Australian native wood seats 18 people in what is surely one of Brisbane’s most private dining rooms.
Our wine and beverage menus
Our wine and beverage menus have been curated with history firmly in mind. The lists feature old and rare wines, classic cocktails, boutique producers, distilleries, and breweries. As much as possible the lists are unashamedly Australian, however, we cannot forget where the stories began and have included selections from around the globe. We invite you to enjoy a good bottle or two with us and let us share their stories with you.
