Description

Directed by Vonne Patiag, Blacktown Shorts showcases unique stories through the lenses of five local filmmakers: Herbert Leota, Wayne Tunks, Lily Cheng, Sabina Giado and Thuy Nguyen.

From an exploration of diversity in the fashion industry, to an intimate love letter to the Sri Lankan Muslim diaspora; celebrate our emerging local film industry in a cosy afternoon of film, nibbles and live music.

Please note: There will be limited seating will be provided so please bring a picnic blanket or cushion to sit on the grass. The area is an alcohol free zone.The Grounds Keeper Café will be open for food, drinks, coffee. You are also welcome to pack your own snacks and picnic blankets. Please be mindful to bring layers to keep warm.


Getting there

We will be located next to the Grounds Keeper Café in Francis Park (adjacent to Blacktown Showground).

Blacktown Showground is an 11 minute walk from Blacktown Station. Limited free parking is available onsite via Richmond Road.

In the event of wet weather, we will move the event to The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre (78 Flushcombe Road, Blacktown, NSW 2148). Films have a maximum Australian Classification M15.
