Made Today - Safe arts practice for artwork and exhibition installation

Join us this May for our Made Today meet-up and learn all about safe art practices! Discover the ins and outs of safe glue usage and adhesion, paint-off gassing, and other essential safety measures for your projects. With guest speaker Holly Riding, Exhibitions Coordinator at State Library, they specialise in Exhibition Design and Management for Museums & Galleries. Holly will guide you through practical tips and invaluable insights to keep you safe while unleashing your creativity.

Made Today will run from 6pm to 7.30pm, with the talk starting at 6:30pm.

Topics we’re hoping to cover in the session;

• Different types of glue and best practices for artists using adhesives in closed spaces, etc.
• Managing fumes and off-gassing periods when installing your artwork
• Working at heights or in precarious spaces (outdoor and indoor artwork installation)
• Manual handling and Safe Work Method Statements for you and your team
• Questions

REQUIREMENTS TO VISIT OPEN LAB AT THE EDGE

• Participants must be over 16 years of age.
• Enclosed, flat footwear must be worn at all times.
