Join Hive’s Principal Astronomer, Dr Martin George, to witness a total lunar eclipse!

HIVE is hosting a public observation session at Legion Park, West Ulverstone where Principal Astronomer Dr Martin George and Ulverstone Planetarium volunteers will be present to explain the event from 8pm until 11pm.The eclipse can be seen with the unaided eye, but a Hive telescope will be available for a better view, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own telescopes and binoculars. This is an outdoor, night time event so please rug up and wear appropriate footwear.Suitable for all ages.This event is free, however registrations are essential. In the event the weather does not allow for the observation of the eclipse, the evening will be cancelled. ****Dr Martin George MASA is Principal Astronomer at the Ulverstone Planetarium at Hive. Martin is a well-known communicator of astronomy, appearing frequently in the media (especially radio programmes and newspapers). He loves to bring the exciting science of astronomy to people of all ages.
