Luke, Huich and Joel are back for a session of gypsy swing and folk music at The Merri Bar! It's free! The trio performed to be a spell-bound audience at the Brunswick Green in June and are delighted to be back on stage.

About Luke and Huich's guitar violin duo

Luke Koszański (guitar) and Huich Goh (violin) play flamenco and folk-inspired music. Known for their expressive, inventive, and sensitive playing, the duo combines their rich musical experiences to create music that's inspired by flamenco, Irish, Scottish, and folk music from across the world. Exquisite guitar playing interwoven with violin melodies that will certainly stir the heart and soul.

This is also a quest to make the violin and guitar sing to one another. It recalls some of the legendary instrumental duos such as Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill, Kayhan Kalhor and Erdal Erzincan, Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas. We also draw inspiration from folk groups like Talisk, Rura, and The Gloaming.For this performance, Luke and Huich are delighted to welcome the gypsy jazz guitarist Joel Koster on stage. This will provide yet another beautiful layer of guitar voices that would leave you spellbound.

About Luke Koszański
Luke Koszański (Ausecuma Beats, Sabor y Ritmo, Atomic Riot, The New Monos) is shaped by his father’s blues and rock music. He has also gone on to work with many international artists such as Ali Birra, Mahmoud Ahmed, Nhatty man (Ethiopia) Yusupha Ngum (Gambia), Amadou Suso of diverse African music genres, as well as The Black Sistaz (West Papua) Purbayan Chatterjee and Sheldon d'silva (India). Luke was a part of The Senegambian Jazz band, whose debut album won Best Global Act for The Age Music Awards in 2018.

About Huich Goh
Huich Goh is a freewheeling, genre-defying violinist who thrives on improvisational playing. Her projects include psychedelic improvisation free jazz collectives like the Paul Kidney Experience and Star/Time, the prog/metal/indie group She Weaves Grotesqueries, and her own improvisation ensemble, Sahul Sakti. Some notable artists she has played with are the Booker prize nominee Jeet Thayil (India), graphic artist Ari Jayaprakash’s Kuru Circus and Orchestra (India), bassist producer composer Sandeep Madhavan (India), and Yusupha Nghum (Gambia).
