Enhance opportunities for STEM Education in your learning environment by exploring Queensland Museum stories and collections.


This free 90 minute professional development workshop will explore hands on activities inspired by Queensland Museum's research and collections to support science learning in your classroom. Workshops are designed by educators, for educators, and consider the value of real-world examples to inspire innovation and understanding among your students or audiences.

In this workshop you will explore curriculum-linked classroom activities for understanding flight and learn how to integrate biological insights with design and technology to boost student engagment in science.

  • Explore how far we have come in travel and exploration.
  • Investigate the conditions on Earth, and look to the future to determine the perfect planet and shelter design for Australia’s extra-terrestrial base.
  • Study rocket design and participate in a design challenge to develop and test out paper stomp rockets.

While this workshop series is geared towards teachers, concepts covered by the workshop are open to GLAM sector professionals and those working in learning and education at cultural institutions.
