Brisbane City Council, with Growth Education Institute, is delivering this free workshop which will focus on business planning, cash flow essentials and management routines for small business success.
Learn from local business experts as they share their knowledge and personal experience while asking questions and networking with other local businesses in a small group setting.
Facilitators:
Amanda Cole
Amanda is recognised as an expert in strategy for small business, having facilitated more than 100 strategic growth training sessions and has chaired the advisory boards of eight companies from their beginnings, growing to $500m in turnover. Her strategy knowledge is based on working with business owners in Brisbane for the last 20 years and seeing what processes work to assist small businesses to grow.
She is also Australia’s first and longest-serving female Chair for leading peer mentoring organisation The Executive Connection, recipient of the Centenary Medal for Business and winner of the Telstra Young Business Woman’s Award (Qld) in 2000.
Tara Jacobson
Tara has more than 20 years’ experience in business growth education and strategy. In that time, she has founded three training organisations in Safety Leadership (Registered Training Organisation), Neuroscience of Leadership and now small business growth through the Growth Education Institute (GROEI). Tara has been the program facilitator with University of Southern Queensland’s ground-breaking Wire Program (mentoring regional female entrepreneurs) and lectures in entrepreneurship, innovation, decision making, business, leadership and management for a number of leading Australian institutions. Her skills and experience in supporting adult learning and knowledge application has been developed through her experience as one of the key team members that established the Executive Programs for Queensland University of Technology’s Graduate School of Business and working with Monash University, La Trobe University and other global educators (vocational, workplace and tertiary).

In this workshop you will work on building:
• your business plan on a page
• management routines to monitor business results and deliver on your plan
• levers to maximise the cash in your business.
You will also get a chance to network with other business owners.
These workshops are one of the ways that Brisbane City Council is planning for a growing city by backing businesses with more support in the suburbs.
