Sunday afternoon Long Pose Life Drawing at Side Gallery with Studio Maverik ~ Join us for a self-guided 2-hour session focusing on one single pose ✿ With plenty of time to capture the finer details of the pose ~ draw, paint or sculpt ✎

What can I expect at this session?

➛ Our experienced nude life model holds one pose for an extended time (with short breaks through out)

➛ The session will begin with some quick warm-up poses

➛ Intimate & cozy vibes with the session limited to 15 participants

➛ Sketch among rotating exhibitions by talented local artists, within the private studio space of Side Gallery

➛ BYO sips and snacks, light nibbles are provided 𐃯

What should I bring?

✐ᝰ Materials: For this long pose session, we encourage you to bring any of your preferred studio materials to make the most out of the class. You are most welcome to bring wet materials such as ink, paints and watercolours, we simply ask that you bring a drop-sheet and any cleaning materials to keep the studio nice and clean for everyone.

⤷ Set-up: We provide chairs and A3 drawing boards for you to work from. As we cap this session at 15 drawers, we allow for some space for you to set-up as you wish ~ so you are welcome to bring an easel, a floor-easel, your own drawing boards :-)

ABOUT OUR LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS

Our sessions involve a professional nude life model to draw inspiration from throughout the session. At Studio Maverik, we take the tradition of life drawing and facilitate a contemporary space for all people to enjoy no-pressure creating and socialising. We work to foster a safe environment where both beginners and experienced artists alike can enjoy a drawing session. Sessions are self-guided and facilitated by two local artists, Frances & Rhianna. All experience levels are warmly welcomed and encouraged!

• Please arrive 15 minutes early to set up: we will be starting at the listed time
• Held in the studio space at Side Gallery in Red Hill, BYO snacks and sips, light nibbles will be provided
• All basic drawing materials provided such as pencils, markers, erasers, sharpeners, paper, drawing boards etc and you can BYO additional materials
• Poses range 30 second warm-ups to a longer single pose held in increments of 20 minutes
• Seated & floor seating with cushions available

Nestled in the heart of the leafy suburb of Red Hill, Side Gallery stands as a dynamic hub, seamlessly blending the traditional white wall gallery model with distinctive design innovation. Side Gallery takes pride in its model's approach, representing a curated selection of established and emerging artists who push the boundaries of contemporary and modern art while fostering relationships with affiliated artists.

Now in its tenth year, Side Gallery continues to evolve as a supportive and inclusive space for artists at all stages of their journey. Our purpose goes beyond exhibition: we mentor artists in their practice, guide them toward their goals, and provide the tools to achieve them. We exist to nurture talent, foster community, and create pathways for artists to grow.

Plenty of street parking available, also accessible by bus.

ACCESSIBILITY

Unfortunately, the studio level of the venue is not wheelchair accessible. Cancellation policy & refunds

We have a strict cancellation policy that requires you to request a refund more than 48 hours before an event. You can request a refund via your eventbrite appointment email (manage order > request refund) to open up the spot for another drawer. We cannot swap your ticket for another date. We will not respond to DMs or emails requesting a refund, you must go through the eventbrite process, thank you.

Further class details

Please keep your phone away while the model is posing, but you're welcome to use it during the break.

If you choose to work with wet mediums such as ink or paint we require you to come prepared with a floor cover, cleaning materials (such as a rag) and to take responsibility to prevent spillage/clean up any mess. Thank you for your understanding.
