AAIR SIG Conversation Series

This AAIR conversation will be an interactive Zoom session for AAIR members and their colleagues who are interested in engaging in a discussion on the recently announced Job-ready Graduates Package in times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please note this will mainly be relating to Australian Government funding changes for higher education. However, representatives from New Zealand or other countries are most welcome to attend. Please read the Job-ready Graduates Package before participating in the webinar.

The Australian Government’s Job-ready Graduates Package focuses the public investment in higher education on national priorities, and ensures the system delivers for students, industry, and the community. The changes aim to deliver more job-ready graduates in the disciplines and regions where they are needed most, and help drive the nation’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this webinar, Andrew Herd will provide an outline of the changes proposed by the government and the impacts on higher education (approximately 40 minutes). This will be followed by a questions and answers session (approximately 20 minutes), before there is a general discussion among the participants on the impact of these changes to their institution and how they will be addressing the changes for funding in 2021 and onward (subject to legislative agreement).

Agenda

  • 11 - 11.40am Andrew Herd presenting
  • 11.40 - 12pm Q&A with Andrew Herd
  • 12 - 12.30pm Open discussion

Demand will be high for this webinar and places are restricted to 100 participants, so register early!

We look forward to e-meeting you in this SIG conversation during COVID!
