Living with dementia program by Dementia Australia. Suitable for: People living with Younger Onset Dementia & their family carers.

About this event

This program is for people living with Younger Onset Dementia and their support person. It provides an overview of dementia and how to proceed after a diagnosis including coping with change, relationships and communication, planning for the future and staying healthy.

The online program will run across six consecutive Tuesday evenings, 1.5 hours per session.

  • Tuesday 17 August 2021, 6:00pm - 7:30pm
  • Tuesday 24 August 2021, 6:00pm - 7:30pm
  • Tuesday 31 August 2021, 6:00pm - 7:30pm
  • Tuesday 7 September 2021, 6:00pm - 7:30pm
  • Tuesday 14 September 2021, 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. These sessions are delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

Suitable for: People living with Younger Onset Dementia, along with their family carers and family members. This program is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors

 A Dementia Australia team member will be in contact to confirm your booking and to arrange a short meeting prior to the program start.

FAQs

How will I know the program is suitable?

The program is for the person living with Younger Onset Dementia (under 65 years of age) along with a family carer or family member. Once you register our facilitators will contact you to discuss whether the program will be suitable for you.

How do I access the online program?

Within the week prior to the event, the link to Zoom will be emailed to the email address that you have provided in your registration. There is no need to download any software in order to participate in this online workshop, therefore you will only need to click on the link to join the session at start time.
