Event description

Description

This program is suitable for all ages.

Founded in Canberra Australia in 2016 by Brian Triglone, inspired by the Giving Voice Chorus in Minnesota, Alchemy Chorus now has up to 90 participants who swing through a variety of well-known songs from Doris Day classics to The Seekers and The Beatles. While the effect which music can have on the brain, especially for those with dementia, is well publicized, one of the important flow-on effects of the chorus is the opportunity it affords the carers of those living with dementia to interact with other carers and importantly, to share an activity with their partner.

All programs are free. Bookings required.

Please note:

  • Bookings are essential for this program as places are limited. We are unable to accommodate participants who have not made a booking.
  • Please contact the library if you wish to amend or cancel your booking. This will enable others to participate in the program.
  • Please arrive 10 mins early to allow time to check in; this assists the program to run on schedule.
