Litchfield Mates: Men's Mental Health First Aid Workshop
Join us in person for a Mental Health First Aid Workshop to learn how to support friends in tough times!
Men’s Program Workshop: Supporting Someone in Crisis
Presented by Joyce Vidot – All Things Mental Health
As part of the Litchfield Mates: Catch Up & Chill men’s program sponsored by NT Department of Health, Joyce Vidot from All Things Mental Health will deliver a short, practical workshop focused on supporting adults experiencing suicidal ideation, severe emotional distress, or crisis.
This session is designed for men who want to feel more confident and capable when someone they know is struggling.
Participants will gain practical guidance on:
- Recognising warning signs of suicidal thoughts and crisis behaviours
- Responding safely and compassionately to emotional overwhelm
- Having supportive conversations without fear of “saying the wrong thing”
- Connecting individuals to appropriate professional and community supports
This workshop does not require any prior training and is delivered in a respectful, non-judgemental environment.
Litchfield Council hopes this session will help build everyday capacity across the community, making compassionate, informed support more accessible when it’s needed most.
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a crisis support service.
