Meet other citizen scientists and brush up on Glossy Black-Cockatoo identification skills ahead of Australia's fourth Great Glossy Count

This free community workshop, hosted by Cooloola Coastcare Association and presented by Kim Morris from Bushland Conservation Management will cover the following topics:

  • Listening for Glossies - how acoustic technology helps with wildlife population monitoring
  • Glossy + feed tree ID - Identification of Glossy Black-Cockatoos by sight and sound, how to differnentiate females, males and juveniles, Glossy Black-Cockatoo ecology and behaviour, and identifying and recording feed trees
  • How to register for the Great Glossy Count and make your sightings matter!

This event is open to everyone — nature lovers, volunteers, birdwatchers, bushwalkers, photographers, anyone interested in participating in the Great Glossy Count and anyone curious about the conservation of a vulnerably listed species.
