Description

This 6 week course is a great introduction to the world of relief printmaking. It is a technique which can be practiced in the home or studio with minimal cost and amazing results. If you love the graphic imagery of relief printing then this technique is for you. The course is suitable for beginners and those with some prior experience. Participants will learn how to prepare and carve a lino block; print in black and white, explore several ways to add colour to a linoprint, including jigsaw and two colour multi-block prints.


Some materials will be provided. The tutor will have linoleum tiles available for purchase at $2.50 each (15x15cm) | & pre-cut printmaking paper @ $1.20 per sheet (25x25cm).
Bring: Notepad and drawing materials, pencil, eraser, scissors, any linocut tools you may have, an image or several images you wish to transfer that are suitable for a graphic medium like linocut. Also bring an apron and wear covered shoes.

ABOUT THE TUTOR
Valé Vincent works across a variety of printmaking techniques and often includes multiplates in a variety of printmaking techniques within one print to create her own unique style of printmaking. Valé graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 1983 Newcastle, majoring in printmaking and continues to be an active member of the Newcastle Printmakers Workshop.
