Find out how you can embed inclusive practice in your workplace.

About this event

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND ?

Inclusive practice aims to assist organisations to improve the quality of care and service that you and your teams provide to LGBTIQ+ clients and colleagues. Find out how you can embed this and make your workplace culturally safe and accessible.

Experienced presenters Starlady (Zoe Belle Gender Collective) & Jami Jones (Rainbow Network) will lead a discussion about what inclusive practice can look like in your organisation.

WHO IS IT FOR ?

Managers, policy makers and influences working in the mental health and/or youth sector.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:

  • Starlady is Zoe Belle Gender Collective’s Program Manager, which is a trans and gender diverse advocacy and educational service. Starlady’s been in the role since 2015, and sits on the Victorian State Government’s Trans and Gender Diverse Expert Advisory Group, and the Equinox Gender Diverse Health Centre’s Advisory Group, among many other advisory groups for homelessness and housing services. Starlady comes from a youth work and community development background. Her work is underpinned by self-determination, advocacy and empowerment.
  • Jami is manager of Education and Engagement at Rainbow Health Victoria, part of the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University. In her work Jami strives to create services and communities that are safe, inclusive and affirming for same sex attracted, intersex, trans and gender diverse Victorians. Jami's background is in youth work and community development. The three buzzwords that best describe her work are collaboration, facilitation and connection.
