Event description

Description

Many SMEs do not understand Intellectual Property (IP), nor the role that it can play in driving economic growth.

Many Australian SME's do not fully realise what IP is, the potentially immense value that IP rights can have, and how IP rights can be fundamental to business growth. When SME’s don’t invest adequately in IP, they risk losing revenue and opportunities for growth, and being surpassed or rendered obsolete by the market entry of new and disruptive players with superior technologies.

This free workshop will cover a range of key issues relating to IP commercialisation that Australian SMEs should know, including:

  • The different types of IP that exist
  • How you can identify, generate and protect IP in the course of your business
  • Strategies that you can use to maximise and extract value from IP and gain access to new markets to drive the growth of your business

This is a free event hosted by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science Entrepreneurs' Programme.

This event is designed to benefit small and medium Australian businesses.
