Project Management Institute (PMI) is the leading authority in project management, dedicated to guiding the way to project success. We also defined our brand purpose: we maximise project success to elevate our world.The PMI Adelaide Chapter, established in 2003, upholds the same standards, principles, and ideas as the global entity. It recognises and embraces project management as a means of achieving business goals.With over 400 members, PMI Adelaide is one of the fastest-growing chapters in Australia. Managed by volunteers, the chapter offers members the opportunity to learn, network, and exchange ideas and best practices with peers from various industries. Members can also enhance their project management knowledge and skills through monthly events, special workshops, newsletters, and an annual national project management conference.

What is the importance of Lessons learned in a project, and what are the main reasons why projects don't succeed.

<p>Ian will highlight important elements of Lessons Learned, and then reflect on the reasons for the relative lack of success in many cases. Attendees are invited to discuss their experiences. </p><p>In this session, you will learn more about:-</p><ul><li>Common project pitfalls and solutions </li><li>Best Practices for Projects  Lessons Learned </li><li>Practical approaches to improving project success </li><li>Management constraints and solutions to those.?</li></ul><p>We also encourage attendees to share their experiences and issue during the event.</p>

<h2>Speaker Biography:</h2><h3><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/ianfry" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ian Fry</a>  Managing Director for <a href="https://knoco.com.au/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Knoco Australia </a></h3><p>Ian has over 50 years IT experience over all roles in both the Public and Private sectors, spending the last 12 years also actively engaged in Knowledge Management  </p><p>He has conducted KM Assessment and Framework and Lessons Learned projects for organizations in both Public and Private sectors. He was heavily involved in the Lessons Learned processes around the 2019 Bushfires in Australia. </p><p> Ian has developed and implemented Lessons Learned software and provided Lessons Learned Support word wide. </p><p>Ian is the Chair of Standards Australia committee on Knowledge Management and so also sits on the Human Resources committee, as well as the ISO committee for ISO30401 Knowledge Management. </p><p>He is a regular conference speaker and webinar presenter including delivering webinars for Universities on Knowledge Management in Australia and Iran. </p>
