What is the workshop about?

The WeDo Activity Pack enables students to work as young scientists, engineers, mathematicians and creative writers providing them with the settings, tools and tasks for completing cross-curricular projects: an ideal way to integrate STEM education into your classroom.

This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the scope and potential of the basic LEGO WeDo Activity Pack, and will framed within a digital pedagogy based on the 4C Learning Process: Connect, Construct, Contemplate, and Continue.

Explicit links will be made to the curricula, as well as to 21st century learning skills of: communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem solving. This workshop is suitable for teachers of all primary school years levels, and no particular ICT expertise or experience is required.

Who is the Workshop Leader?

Dr Susan Blackley is an experienced educator, and has provided workshops using LEGO WeDo and conducted research in schools. Susan is committed to integrated STEM education, and is currently researching and publishing in this field. She presents a lively and challenging workshop, and is constantly amazed by how much learning she does herself in these contexts.
