This meeting will be Online only. No daylight savings.

A zoom link will be sent to registered attendees the night before the meeting.

Patrice Connelly will begin by outlining the history of parliament and suffrage. She will then introduce this very user-friendly website and show you in detail how it works and how to search. The earliest date you can search on is 1386, so there is plenty of scope for research and thousands of names and pictures. And if your ancestor was a humble labourer, you may be able to research their employer if he was a parliamentarian. Don’t miss this comprehensive and interesting talk on a genealogy goldmine.

SPEAKER: Dr Patrice Connelly completed her PhD in 2025 with a musicology thesis that included a considerable amount of genealogical study. She teaches at the University of Queensland, and is a pre-concert presenter for Musica Viva. She gives frequent talks for the Society of Australian Genealogists. In between times, she is a music publisher and runs her own music business. She has performed and taught across Australia over past decades. Her genealogical journey began in 1999 and many skeletons have catapulted out of a variety of cupboards since then.
