Learn to progress your sewing skills and make a wide range of items. Gain hands-on skills for textile creations and repairs.
This workshop is designed for people with intermediate sewing skills who are familiar with using a sewing machine. Explore the possibilities of how to use patterns to make clothing and other crafts. It will provide ’hands on’ skills and knowledge regarding the correct use and maintenance of the sewing machine.
Specific skills include:
- Parts, functions and use of sewing machine;
- Practice various stitches;
- Maintaining your machines;
- Seams and seam finishes;
- Hem finishes.
Please bring to the class:
- Scrap fabrics/old sheet or pillow cases or old clothes. If you don’t have any we will share!
- Fabric Scissors
- Sewing thread (any colour)
- Dressmaking pins
- Pen/Pencil
- Rubber
- Ruler
- Note pad
