About this event

Learn and Play for Families is a playgroup for children 2-5 years and their families where children can take part in fun activities and parents/guardians/carers can speak to industry professionals about areas of children's developmental milestones like reading and literacy, and children's overall health and wellbeing.

Term 2 2024 sessions will be held at Greystanes Community Centre, 734 Merrylands Road, Greystanes 2160


Bookings: Registrations open 17/4 at 7pm

The following sessions are available:

- Wednesday 1st of May 2024 1pm-2pm: a Messy and Sensory Play session for children 2 to 5 years and their guardians

- Wednesday 5th of June 2024 1pm-1:45pm: a representative from One Door Mental Door discussing management of parental burnout - coping skills and self care

- Wednesday 3rd of July 2024 1pm - 1:45pm: Emotional literacy is important for children’s social development. Come and listen to how emotions help us to understand, communicate and connect with each other and how we can support this development for our children.

Do you live outside the Cumberland Council area? Our workshops are heavily subsidised or provided free to residents with costs covered by our ratepayers. Cumberland Council residents will get priority over non-residents when booking. , instead please phone us and you will be put on a waitlist. You will be notified before the workshop if there is available space. There may be an additional fee for non-residents. To book please call 8757 9691.

Some workshops may be postponed due to low numbers, or other circumstances outside of our control. If this happens you will receive an email notification. A reminder/confirmation email is sent 48hours prior to the event to confirm the workshop is going ahead.

Unable to attend or want to cancel your ticket? Please contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend an event so places can be offered to others on a waiting list. You can also cancel your ticked online through eventbrite. Frequent non-attendance at events may result in events being cancelled and individual bookings being refused or given lower priority booking status.
