Learn how to use our Redsail RS80 7050 CO2 Laser Cutter and control software Lightburn. Open to Mick Bennett Make-It Space Members 14+.

Learn Safe Operating Procedures, Emergency Protocols and gain Verification of Competency in order to use the Laser Cutter to bring your own projects to life.

The Laser Cutter induction comprises a Training session (1hour), followed by an Assessment (1 hour). You must pass the Assessment to use our Laser Cutter.

Laser Cutter Induction - 5-7pm, Tuesday 3 March

Training component covers safety and emergency procedures, Laser Cutter system components, Lightburn control software, settings, materials and completing a simple laser cut project. The Free Trial Edition of Lightburn is available for download at any time by visiting https://lightburnsoftware.com/.

Assessment component requires candidates to demonstrate competency for all areas covered in the training component by successfully cutting their own design* on the laser cutter. Upon passing the Assessment, candidates will have completed the CO2 Laser Cutter Induction and be able to book and use the Laser Cutter during opening hours.

*You can bring your own .svg file to cut and etch at the induction (recommended max size 100mm x 100mm). Reach out if you have any questions.
