What do I need to bring?

● Personal dive gear

● Clothing for a tropical environment

● Insect repellent

● Sunscreen/sun protection

We recommend bringing as little as possible. Expect no phone reception and no high speed wifi. Just plenty of sunshine and wonder but if you need to be reached by phone, anyone can call you at the eco-resort. There is paid wifi at reception.

Please note baggage allowance is 1 dive bag and 1 checked bag per person (no more than 14kg in total)

How do I get there?

You’ll need to get yourself to Harvey Bay, Brisbane (Redcliffe) or Gold Coast airport. From there, you’ll be whisked away to Lady Eliot Island and dropped off afterwards.

What can I expect from food & accommodation?

The Eco-Resort

Just a short walk from the lagoon, each eco cabin has been designed to fit into the natural surroundings whilst providing the ultimate in comfort and relaxation. Accommodation and bathroom facilities are shared and each cabin is equipped with power points, a ceiling fan and a deck for taking in the beautiful surroundings.

The Banquets

The Beachfront Dining Room is the only restaurant on Lady Eliot and is known for it’s delicious, nourishing cuisine. Upon booking, you will be sent a form to let us know of any dietary requirements.

Freediving is an incredibly relaxing activity that combines disciplines of the body and the mind. We will guide each guest individually to their own ability and limits. If for any reason you don’t feel like diving, you can still have a blast snorkelling around crystal clear waters or maybe doubling up on your yoga practice. Our Freediving instructors are very experienced and take safety very seriously, you are in really good hands.

Can we fish on Lady Elliot Island?

Situated within a highly protected ‘Green Zone’ the coral cay is a sanctuary for over 1,200 species of marine life and is known for its abundance of manta rays, turtles, amazing array of spectacular marine life and unspoilt coral reef. No fishing or spearfishing is allowed.

Do we need any prior experience?

No experience is required to join, we teach all levels of freediving including beginners. It’s recommended to swim in the ocean regularly as preparation and get used to wearing some freediving equipment such as fins, a mask and a snorkel.

What if I’m not interested in Freediving?

No problem at all! Come hangout on the amazing glass bottom boat tours, snorkel, swim in the lagoon and explore the reef with the Master Reef Guides. There will also be epic Breathwork classes, daily yoga and workouts and much more activities for everyone.

Medical

Lady Elliot Island is a remote location, 80km from the Queensland coast. There is limited air access and neither Lady Elliot Management nor Breathless holds liability for any flights and/or state of emergency transportation services in relation to accidents or illness whilst on Lady Elliot Island. We strongly recommend travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances. Qualified Senior First Aid Officers are on Island for any first aid issues. We also have a well equipped First Aid room which houses oxygen, a defibrillator, a Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) emergeancy medical kit and other standard first aid equipment.

Deposit/Cancellation Policy

Welcome to Breathless Expeditions. We are dedicated to providing our clients exceptional experiences while ensuring clarity and transparency in all our transactions. This Refunds & Cancellations Policy outlines our approach to refunds and cancellations, reflecting our commitment to fairness and customer satisfaction.

Please note: This policy is subject to change from time to time to reflect our evolving practices or regulatory requirements. We encourage our clients to review the policy periodically for any updates.

By engaging with our services and making a purchase, you acknowledge and agree to the terms laid out in this policy. We strive to balance the interests of both Breathless Expeditions and our valued clients, ensuring that the terms are reasonable, fair, and clearly communicated.

Timing of payments 

Please be advised that full payment for any of our offerings is required six weeks prior to the commencement of the service or event, except for those customers who have opted for a payment plan arrangement. This policy ensures that we can manage our bookings and associated costs effectively, especially for arrangements that require advance commitments such as accommodation, food and appropriate staff for events and expeditions.

1. Deposits are refundable until the expiry of a cooling-off period of 14 days.
2. If you have made the full payment and wish to cancel with at least 60 days' notice prior to the course, expedition or retreat start date, you will receive a full refund less your deposit as stated above.
3. If you have made the full payment and wish to cancel at least 30 to 59 days prior to a retreat start date, you will receive a 50% refund less your deposit 
4. Cancellations within 29 days of the start date may receive a 15% refund (less the deposit) if the spot can be filled; otherwise, the payment is non-refundable. 

Deposits are defined as either a $1,000 prepayment or the first (and possibly second) payment plan instalment that cumulatively equals at least $1,000. This deposit is non-refundable after a 14-day cooling-off period.

Payment Plans

We believe our transformative experiences should be accessible to everyone. Our payment plans are designed to provide financing options for those unable to pay upfront, though they incur additional costs due to the interest charged to offset our risk. The same cancellation fees as outlined above apply to clients on payment plans. This means:

• After the initial deposit, a 14-day cooling-off period is included, during which a full refund can be claimed and all access removed.
• All subsequent payments are non-refundable. Early termination of the agreement by a participant or client necessitates the payment of all remaining dues. Failure to complete the payment may result in the removal of course access.
• Each monthly instalment is due every 30 days from the initial deposit date. Clients are obligated to fulfil all payments, even if the agreement is terminated early by the client, subject to the terms herein, including potential late payment fees for delayed payments.

This policy aims to clarify the terms surrounding payments, cancellations, and refunds, ensuring transparency and understanding for all our clients.

Special Terms & Conditions

To run the Lady Elliot Retreat, a minimum number of bookings is necessary. Up to 14 days in advance of the start date, Breathless Expeditions will be able to cancel the trip. In this case, a full refund of all payments including the deposit will be returned to customers. With your booking, you agree that Breathless Expeditions will not be held liable for any other travel arrangements clients could have made, including but not limited to flights and transportation bookings.
