Come to Kwinana Library and make a kite for World Refugee Day!

This is a creative and fun workshop, where you will learn how to make a kite from a piece of paper! You will get to create your own kite to take home.

Please note that this program is suitable for kids aged 8-12, and is a hands-on workshop. Photographs and videos may be taken of the event. Parents need to be in attendance (and are welcome to join in too!) but do not need to book a ticket

Why kites?

Kites represent freedom and the ability to rise above. The refugee kite embodies the journey of displaced individuals displaced from their homes due to conflict, persecution, or other adversities.

What is World Refugee Day?

World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the globe. It falls each year on 20 June and celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution.
