What is Kinship Linguistics?Kinship Linguistics is the area of Linguistics identified and developed by the Aboriginal people that meets their original standards and rules. A way to teach and translate the critical learnings of the Original Lore System of Australia. Kinship Linguistics holds some similarity to the fields of sociolinguistics and anthropological linguistics; however these two aforementioned areas do not have the Original Cultural context or Kinship First Mindset to understand or translate Aboriginal language. A communication style that also happens to be one of the worlds earliest and therefore most precious language systems.

About Nola Turner-JensenAn Aboriginal Australian Language historian from the Wiradjuri language group. A mother of 4 boys and 1 girl, Nola is an experienced Social Worker running youth shelters for many years. Nola has been the lead researcher on the CultuRecode Project for the last six years– developing the Aboriginal IQ Training Program to reduce misunderstanding and Cognitive Bias between First Nation and Colonial Australian peoples. Nola is the content writer and e-learning designer over the last eight years for Crackerjack Education. Crackerjack is Australia’s leading &amp; first Indigenous run education company for Teachers and educators. Chosen as a 2021 Community Changemaker within the Yanalangami: Strong Women, Strong Communities Changemakers Program. Nola has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors for HealthWISE Nola is currently leading a Wiradjuri Traditional Language Patterns Restoration Project under the direction of the Wiradjuri Elders and Knowledge holders, to return the voice and purpose of the living landscapes across our country. Nola is Chairperson of 5 Bats Company – who are a new Aboriginal led organisation working with Aboriginal communities to restore their sovereignty of country and identify ways to sustain and commercialise original biodiversity within their local landscapes. An accomplished writer Nola has published four Aboriginal children’s books and was awarded a Fellowship of the First Nation Australian Writers Network in 2019. Nola was instrumental in establishing the first Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce in Australia over 15 years ago in Brisbane. Nola was also chosen as one of 12 Aboriginal women to be featured in the 2018 NAIDOC(National Aboriginal &amp; Islander Day Organising Committee) E-Book celebrating the leading Aboriginal female entrepreneurs in Australia. By bringing together themes of wellbeing, education, creativity with environment, science and deep respect for First Nations knowledge, Treecreate is working towards a hopeful future for generations to come. To date, Treecreate has worked with local arts, landcare and environmental groups as well as partnering on international events with academics, artists and policy experts.
