Description

Why should your child learn to code?

Learning to code has become a key skill to have in the 21st century, 75% of the jobs of the future are going to be STEM-related. The new digital curriculum recognises this and has made coding compulsory for Year 7 and 8 students.


Description

Kids code schools is an after-school coding program designed to help kids in year 6,7 and 8 to understand computer programing, robotics so they learn to solve problems, work collaboratively while learning the basics of programming. This program is a project based course so kids get a hands on experience every and put what they have learnt to use every week.


What will your child learn at the end of this course?


  • Basic level understanding of Python, HTML, CSS programming

  • How to use Python to create basic games.

  • How to use Python to automate everyday tasks

  • Build a website using HTML, CSS languages

  • Understanding of the basics of robotics

  • Learn to work collaboratively with other kids and

  • Problem solving and critical thinking


Duration

This course runs every Wednesdays from 18 July 2018 to 19 Septemeber 2018 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

We will provide laptops for use on the day.


What age children do you recommend for this course?

We recommend children from 11 years to 13 years old.


Are there any prerequisites for this course?

This course is designed for children aged 11 years to 13 years with no experience in coding.
