Overview

Discover insects & invertebrates! FREE Junior Ranger event (ages 8–12) - INVERTEBRATE INSIGHTS - at David Fleay Wildlife Park.

Junior Rangers (aged 8–12 years) will enjoy a guided glimpse into the incredible diversity of insects and other terrestrial invertebrates at David Fleay Wildlife Park on Saturday 28 February. Using a scavenger hunt checklist, they'll search for signs of invertebrate life, including examples of camouflage, insect life cycles, and symbiotic relationships.

Learn how these species are studied, and explore the equipment used to measure insect abundance. Look, listen and even smell for clues that reveal the presence of invertebrates, building curiosity about the tiny creatures that play a huge role in a healthy ecosystem.

This is a session for children only. Parents must sign their children in and out and can then enjoy an hour and a half to themselves while their children learn and explore.

Parks Connect is proudly supported through funding from the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
