Junior Mountain Biking Session - age 9 to 12

This session is for Juniors aged 9 - 12 (only) who enjoy mountain biking and want to develop their skills and have some fun!.
What skills does the course cover ?
The course will teach the kids how to start and stop corectly, brake safley and effectively, corner using different techniques, ride smaller inclines and decents and cross obstacles. Following the skills session an obstacle course will be used to challange the kids to put their skills to the test.
The course cost is $20 per participant and the RATS club will subsidise their members participation with a $20 subsidy per participant which can be claimed as a discount upon booking.
This course has a limited number of riders only so early registration is encouraged.
Who are the Coaches?
The Coaches for this course will be the Mark Routledge and Mark Watts, Both Coaches are MTBA Level 1 NCAS qualified and have delivered programs such as SheRides for Cycling Australia and the Junior Development Squad training for National Mtb rounds for MTBA.
Both Coaches hold blue cards, first aid qualifications and are experienced in junior coaching.

When is the session?
This session is on 11/12 at 3:30 - 5pm . If the Session is popular we will run another on the summer school holidays at a future date.
Event numbers are limited so we encourage you to sign up early.
What age must particpants be?
This course is for 9-12 year olds (age at the time of the session). We are also offering a 13-17 year old seperate sessions of a different format at a different time. Please contact us for more information on this 13-17 y.o course if of interest.
What to bring to the event?
You will need a bike with working brakes, a helmet, and a thirst for fun! Feel free to wear your gloves, sunglasses or whwet ever else youlike wearing when riding your bike. , Ensure the kids are wearing comfortable clothing, a drink bottle (which does not need to be bike mounted but ensure it is filled before you arrive) and a low sugar snack like a piece of fruit, muslie bar or sandwich to top up energy levels if required as 90 minutes of bike fun takes a bit of energy.

No, we will have a list of all registered and paid participants on the day.
