About the speakers

Will Baylis

Portfolio Manager, Martin Currie Australia

Will joined Martin Currie Australia (formerly Legg Mason Australian Equities) in July 2013 after 16 years at Deutsche Bank in various roles including research sales, head of Australian equity sales and account management, as well as head of the Melbourne equities desk. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Will worked at ANZ (McCaughan) Securities for eight years as head of equities desk across various regions, including London and New York. Before that, he was with National Mutual Funds Management as an investment analyst for two years. Will has a bachelor of economics and commerce from the University of Melbourne, and holds a diploma of financial planning. Will is a Fellow of Finsia and an Affiliate of the Australian Stock Exchange.

Alastair Reynolds

Portfolio Manager, Martin Currie Australia

Alastair joined Martin Currie in 2010 and is a co-manager of our Global Emerging Markets strategy, with responsibility for researching stocks in the telecoms, materials and energy sectors. He joined from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), where he was an investment director on its emerging markets desk. As a portfolio manager he managed a range of strategies including emerging markets smaller companies and specialist Central and Eastern European mandates. Alastair is currently Chairman of the Martin Currie Charitable Foundation and is actively involved in the charitable sector and volunteering projects within our local community.

Grant Hackett OAM

Chief Executive Officer, Generation Development Group

Grant joined the Generation Development Group (GDG) Executive Team in September 2017 and was recently appointed as Chief Executive Officer, GDG. With over 12 years of experience, Grant has held many senior positions across marketing, distribution and wealth management for Westpac and BT Financial Group. Grant’s qualifications include an Executive Masters of Business Administration with first class honours, a Diploma of Business Law and a Diploma of Financial Services. Prior to his corporate career, Grant was a multiple Olympic champion representing Australia in swimming and has held numerous world records.
