Saturday, Mar 21 from 8 pm to 9 pm AEST
Overview

Aboriginal All Stars comic Jay Wymarra brings Tropical Fruit—fresh North QLD stories, queer wizardry, family yarns and uke laughs.

Aboriginal All Stars regular and Comedy Zone alumni brings a new hour squeezed fresh from North Queensland. Jay Wymarra is part Torres Strait Islander and part queer wizard, ripe with sparkling wit, juicy yarns and just enough tangy bite. Join Jay in his world of wayward aunties, embarrassing uncles, a celebrity encounter or three, and his trusty uke ready to spit some hilarious verse (if that verse is a word perfect rendition of “I Wanna Be Like You” The Jungle Book. Really.)

Tropical Fruit is a refreshing take on life from one of comedy’s rising stars, and contains your daily recommended serving of laughs.

Directed by Lauren Bok

“A powerhouse of performance.” ★★★★ - TheatreMatters
“Utterly camp, pansexual stage presence” - ★★★★½ The Age (Comedy Zone)
“Steals the show” - Fringe Biscuit, Edinburgh Fringe

As seen on ABC’s Rosehaven, on Channel 10’s Waltzing Jimeon, The Deadly Funny Grand Final, Ruben Kaye’s Kaye Hole, and the Aboriginal Comedy All Stars.
