Description


On the occasion of the 18th Week of the Italian Language in the World (15th-21st October). Under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic of Italy.

The second lecture of "Mystical Love in the Heart of Medieval Italy: Jacopone da Todi: Polemic and Passion" is presented by Prof. Rodney John Lokaj, associate professor at Kore University of Enna (Italy), who will introduce the audience to some of the more fiery works by Jacopone da Todi at the dawn of the age of Dante. The lecture will be in English.

The poetry will be discussed in the original language with English translations available.

Umbrian light refreshments will be served after the lecture.

Event organized by the "Associazione Umbria ed Amici del Victoria" in collaboration with the IIC Melbourne and Co.As.It as part of the Lecture Series "Francesco, Jacopone e Valentino: umbri e non solo santi" (Francis, Jacopone and Valentine: three Umbrians and more than just Saints) funded by Regione Umbria.
