Join us at the Museum at Inveresk for our workshop series celebrating International Women's Day (IWD) 2026.


Weaving Stories of Strength Workshop 4:
Guided by art therapist Melissa “Moo” Lubke.

Pause. Breathe. Create.

Guided by Melissa “Moo” Lubke (MA Therapeutic Arts Practice, AThR), this workshop offers a safe and supportive space for mindfulness and creative reflection. Through gentle art-making practices, participants will explore personal narratives, fostering emotional safety, and self-expression.

What to Expect

  • Art therapy session focusing on grounding and emotional processing through drawing and mark-making.
  • Transfer words, images, or symbols onto textile squares using paint, embroidery, or felting.
  • Optional sound recording of words or sounds for the collective soundscape.

  • This workshop will be held in the Learning Centre at the Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Launceston.
  • The workshop series is free to register - please note bookings are essential.
  • This workshop is open to women and gender-diverse individuals of all ages.

IWD 2026: Weaving Stories of Strength

Threads of resilience, sharing voices of transformation.

QVMAG and the City of Launceston, in collaboration with Interweave Arts, invite you to Weaving Stories of Strength - an arts workshop series in celebration of International Women’s Day 2026.

The free arts workshop series brings the 2026 IWD themes to life through seven creative workshops, culminating in a symbolic wearable sculpture to be revealed at a special morning tea event.

Through art therapy, textile design, movement, and sound, the project invites women and gender-diverse individuals to reclaim narratives, explore embodiment, and create a powerful symbol of collective strength.
