Ishar's International Women's Day Breakfast 2026
If you're looking for an insightful IWD event, this is a panel you won't want to miss. Your attendance will support women experiencing FDV.
Balance the Scales: Creating a Fair and Inclusive Justice System for Women and Girls
Join Ishar in celebrating International Women's Day 2026 under the theme "Balance the Scales," which advocates for creating a fair and inclusive justice system for women and girls. This theme highlights ongoing barriers to justice—including low conviction rates in sexual assault cases and systemic discrimination—while calling for the transformation of justice systems and the amplification of marginalised voices to establish equality as the standard, not the exception.
The morning will feature a hot plated breakfast followed by an inspiring panel discussion. Hosted by Suzanne Goodman of Goodman Solutions, the panel will include Superintendent Andrew Wilson of WA Police, Kim Farmer, Magistrate at Children's Court of WA, Hon Jessica Stojkovski, Minister for Child Protection, Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence, Cherish Chee, Lived-Experience speaker and Zahra Al Hilaly of Women Deliver.
If you're looking for an insightful and meaningful event to attend, this is the IWD celebration you won't want to miss. Our distinguished panelists bring diverse perspectives from law enforcement, judiciary, government, and international advocacy, each offering unique insights on advancing justice and equality for women and girls from their distinct professional backgrounds.
All proceeds will be invested in Ishar's Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) services and women's programs. These vital services support vulnerable refugee and migrant women and girls who have experienced family and domestic violence and/or sexual abuse, helping them heal and rebuild their lives on their own terms. Through equal opportunity and empowerment, we can work together to include refugee and migrant women in our collective efforts toward achieving gender equity.
