From racism and animal rights to transgender identity, The Ethics Centre's IQ2 debates shape national conversation and have global impact. Take Stan Grant’s powerful speech, ‘Racism is destroying the Australian dream’, first delivered at our October 2015 IQ2 debate. His words moved thousands and reignited a national conversation about the experience of Indigenous Australians.
In 2017, the Ethics Centre's IQ2 debates are your opportunity to listen to the policies and practices that shape our world and discover where you stand on some of the most important issues of our time.
For a limited time, this is your chance to make the most of significant savings with an IQ2 subscription package – starting at just $49 for all four debates.
Debates will be held on 28 March | 6 June | 1 August | 24 October 2017 in our new home at Sydney Town Hall.
This order will deliver one ticket for the full IQ2 2017 season.
Individual tickets for each of the four debates will be sent via email on 13 March 2017.
In 2017, we'll explore the Refugee Convention, criminal justice, political correctness and the future of humanity. Details and full speaker lineups for each debate will be announced well in advance of each debate but we can guarantee four compelling and entertaining nights with some of the sharpest, wittiest and best informed observers in Australia.
About Intelligence Squared:
IQ2 is the Australian arm of the international debate series, Intelligence Squared, which is also held in London, New York and Hong Kong. Speakers have eight uninterrupted minutes to share their ideas – a luxury in today’s fast paced media environment of 15 second grabs and political party spin lines. Help us shape our world with ethics and intelligence.
Give the gift of thought this Christmas
The Ethics Centre is a not for profit organisation. We don't make any money from the IQ2 debates, but we hold them because we feel that there's never been a more important time to listen to, and understand, different viewpoints on some of the most complex issues we face together today. And Stan Grant’s IQ2 speech was a reminder that such investments can pay large dividends and can truly help change the world. We might be biased, but think that makes for a pretty incredible gift that wins over a pair of socks or new mug every time.
