Event Information
Description
THIS EVENT IS ALSO BEING LIVESTREAMED VIA OUR FACEBOOK PAGE @ANUCLIMATE ON TUESDAY 13TH FROM 6PM (and you can also view it there any time after that).
On 8th August 2019, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will release their Special Report on Climate Change and Land. It will cover desertification, land degradation, sustainable land management, food security, and greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems.
This event will consist of a presentation by Prof Mark Howden followed by audience Q&A, moderated by Dr Sarah Milne. Mark will discuss interactions between climate change and the land, including climate change impacts on agricultural productivity, food security and biodiversity. He will explore the implications of the report for Australia, covering policy and land management responses for reversing land degradation, improving economic returns, crop yields, nutrition, climate change adaptation and mitigation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE MOVED THIS EVENT TO A LARGER VENUE (IE MANNING CLARK HALL) DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND.
