West Projections Inc and Victoria University are proud to present West Projections Festival, anintimate place-based community projection festival,in its sixth year---In 2019, the Festival delves into the theme of Home.Home can be a place, a safe-place, a house, apartment or any other shelter. What makes a home? We share homes with families, lovers, friends and strangers. Home can be a place of retreat and sanctuary, or of shift and transition. Temporary for some and permanent for others. Domestic confinement or domestic bliss. It can be a positive or negative place to be.The artists involved have been invited to investigate their sense of place and their own definition of home using the eclectic canvas of Footscray, Seddon and West Footscray. Home will be illuminated in shopfronts, bars, artist galleries and studios, public spaces, Victoria University campuses and laneways.West Projections Festival encourages you to explore our shared urban environment after dark.Projections can be viewed nightly at all sites from 6–10pm.Self-guide by downloading the online guide onto your smartphone. Bring a set of head phones to stream artist interviews and sound at projection sites.Or join guided walks with artist talks and performances. Spots are limited and bookings essential.Visit the websitewww.westprojections.comfor more information about the program.

The completed large scale work will only be able visible under UV light, creating a magical, illuminating experience for families after-dark.
