In this beginner workshop you will learn a series of key blacksmithing techniques which are the foundations for making beautiful ironwork. You will experience the thrill of working with hot metal and discover the satisfaction of seeing completed pieces you have made with your own hands.

Duration:- 4 hours
The day starts with a Safety Induction and then we briefly cover some blacksmithing concepts and tools. This is followed by a demonstration of some basic techniques,
Together we will practise hammer control, tong selection and moving the steel to shape. This is a small workshop of max 4 students. If you need to reschedule, please make contact ASAP.
Suitable For:-
Anyone over 16 years old with a parent doing the workshop together.
Anyone able to lift a 1.5 kg hammer
Anyone able to follow basic safety instructions as provided by your instructor who is with you every step of the way.
We recommend wearing full-length pants and closed-toe shoes on the day. We will provide blacksmith aprons and suitable eye and ear protection.
The workshop will be held in the backyard of our location in Kyabram, Victoria in a shed under roof
