Introduction to Wikidata and GLAM with Andy Mabbett - Workshop
Event Information
Description
Wikidata is a linked, open, and structured knowledge database that is usable and friendly for both people and computers. Wikidata provides a common source of data in many languages that can be used by anyone, under a public domain license. It contains various data types, for example text, images, quantities, coordinates and dates.
Following Andy Mabbett's morning presentation, this introductory workshop for GLAM professionals offers you the opportunity to get your hands on Wikidata, learn how to edit and work on improving Queensland datasets.
Facilitated by Andy and designed for beginners, learn how to navigate your way through the Wikidata ecosystem and plan ongoing projects related to your organisation.
Date: Tuesday 11 September 2018
Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm
Where: Innovation Lab, level 1, The Edge, State Library of Queensland
