Join local artist Kaylene to create a watercolour masterpiece inspired by the works of renowned artist J.J Hilder. This workshop is perfect for beginners as you will be guided step by step to create a lake scene titled " Sailing with my Dog". Prior to the workshop you will have an opportunity to be inspired by a digital exhibition of J.J Hilder's work titled 'Portraits of Water'. All painting materials such as professional quality watercolour paints, watercolour paper and boards will be supplied. We request participants to bring their own watercolour brushes, which can easily be purchased from art supply shops.

The workshop will be paired with fresh juice, coffee, tea and light refreshments. Sugar Valley Library Museum is a licenced venue and attendees are welcome to purchase a glass of Hunter Valley local wines.

About Kaylene Gayner

Kaylene is a self-taught artist, she started painting after retiring from the workforce. She now paints with watercolours and really enjoys the versatility of the medium. Some of her work is quite detailed and other pieces are very loose and abstract and she sometimes uses a combination of watercolour and mixed media. She paints most days and enjoys experimenting with the medium to learn new and various ways watercolours can be applied to any style. She has been a member of the Newcastle & Lake Macquarie Art Society for many years and sells her works through their exhibitions. You can also view her work at Tinkat Alley Gallery, Fassifern and Maitland Hospital year round. Kaylene really enjoys inspiring others to try watercolours during her weekly class at Tinkat Alley which has been running for approximately four years. She gets great pleasure from seeing people gain confidence, learn the intricacies of watercolour and go on to create wonderful paintings all while having fun.
