Introduction to Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Session 1

Frankston LibraryFrankston, VIC
Saturday, Mar 14 from 11 am to 12 pm AEDT
Overview

In a supportive environment, you will be guided through a practice which offers yoga as an opportunity for healing.

Join us for a trauma-sensitive yoga workshop with Clare Pritchard.

In our Introduction to Trauma-Sensitive Yoga workshop you will be invited to become curious about the potential of yoga as an integral part of the healing journey. This is not a therapy session, but offers an experiential introduction to a body-based practice which is designed to help you connect with your body in a positive and empowering way. There are no prerequisites for this workshop, so whether you're new to yoga or have practiced for years, this workshop welcomes all levels of confidence, experience and physical ability.

In a supportive environment, you will be guided through a practice which offers yoga as an opportunity for healing, focusing on choice and personal agency. Clare will guide you through gentle movements and breath focus, supporting you to mindfully notice your experience and choose a practice that at all times feels available and safe enough for you. This session is about finding your own unique way of practicing, while sharing a carefully held space with others.

There will be some equipment available to use but you are, of course, welcome to bring your own mat, cushion or blanket/s to support you in your practice.

You are invited to leave self-judgement and pressure at the door, and instead join a practice which endeavours to develop curiosity and self-compassion as you journey towards befriending your body.

This workshop is for people aged 18+

Hosted in collaboration with Joe Bakhmoutski from Power to Be Happy.
