Education event for practice nurses.

This session is for General Practice nurses. The purpose of the evening is to provide an introduction to basic spirometry. The talk will be held in SCHI. On ground level, Lecture theatre 2. SCHI is lecture theatre complex located on the SCUH campus just to the north of the main hospital building. (SCHI - Sunshine Coast Health Institute).


This talk does not constitute spirometry certification.

Learning objectives:

  1. What do the parameters mean? FEV1, FVC etc.
  2. How do I know I've done a good spirometry?
  3. Basic interpretation of results - flow curves and numbers.

Presenter:

Darren Smith is a Respiratory Scientist at Sunshine Coast University Hospital with 30 years experience in lung function testing.

Cost: Free - snacks will be provided.

A limit of 30 places will be offered.
