Dip your toes into the world of sound design!
About this event
Sound design is the practice of creating soundtracks through specifying, acquiring or creating auditory elements using audio production techniques and tools. This skill is regularly used across creative disciplines including in filmmaking, videogame development and radio.
If you’re an educator, storyteller or artist, book in to this workshop to learn from sound artist and filmmaker Tom Allum (Barking Wolf). Tom will give you an introduction to concepts of sound design, sound effect manipulation and capturing audio.
Make sure to bring a smartphone with audio capture capacity.
Tickets are free for City of Belmont residents (Ascot, Belmont, Cloverdale, Kewdale, Redcliffe, Rivervale) and $10 for non-residents. If you purchase a residents ticket, please bring proof of your City of Belmont address to the workshop. Accepted forms include a current drivers licence, proof of age card, recent utility bill or opportunity card.
This workshop is part of the City of Belmont Art Awards: Education Program. The program assists our arts community in developing their professional skillset for a successful entry to the City’s Arts Awards and beyond. For more workshops, visit our website.
The Art Awards are brought to you by the City of Belmont and sponsored by Belmont Forum, our media partner PerthNow and our education partner Artsource. Artsource is Western Australia’s leading visual arts network and membership organisation for artists.
