Save money and the environment by making the switch to reusable period products!

About this event

Always wanted to try reusable sanitary products but not sure where to start? In this free workshop run by Waverley Council and Alice Henchion, learn about the variety of products available and find the one that suits your needs.

In this workshop:

  • Learn about the environmental and financial benefits of using reusable sanitary products
  • Explore the range of different products available including period cups and period underwear
  • Ask ALL the questions on how they actually work including how to clean and maintain your products
  • Get some support if you are already using a reusable product

All menstruating people are welcome, from teens to adults in the Waverley Council area.

Hurry spots are limited!

Why make the switch?

Women and people who menstruate use approximately 11,000 disposable menstrual products in their lifetime which equates to around 200kgs of single-use waste per person, all of which is sent to landfill. Make the switch to reusable products and let nature do it's thing while looking after nature!

This event is being run by Waverley Council in partnership with Nappy Lane. Nappy Lane launched in 2014 to ensure that parents in the Illawarra had somewhere to go to get their cloth nappies, as well as receive some support along the way. Nappy Lane now delivers workshops for cloth nappies and reusable sanitary products across NSW to spread the word about the environmental and financial benefits of switching to reusables.

This project is a NSW Environment Protection Authority Waste Less, Recycle More initiative, funded from the waste levy.
