Introduction to Python

Python is a versatile and widely used programming language for data analysis, automation, scientific computing, and software development. Its clear syntax, extensive ecosystem of libraries, and strong community support make it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced programmers.

In this introductory Python course, you will:

• Learn the fundamentals of Python programming and core programming concepts
• Get started with Jupyter Notebooks and navigate their key features
• Import, explore, and work with real-world datasets
• Use loops and functions to write efficient, reusable code
• Create basic data visualisations to explore and communicate insights

No prior programming experience is required — this course is designed to help you build your Python skills from the ground up.

This training will be delivered online via MS Teams by the HMRI Data Sciences Team over 2 days. Attendance on both days is necessary to successfully complete the workshop.
