The Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI) at the University of Queensland is organising a short and practical introduction to version control using our new internal gitlab server.About this EventResearchers often have a large amounts of files (code, data, figures, notes) and they want to keep past versions for reference. Keeping multiple files with very similar names is error prone (manuscript_final.docx, manuscript_final2.docx, manuscript_finalfinal.docx, manuscript_submitted.docx). It is easy to forget what different files contain, or to copy over files you do not mean to. One solution to these problems is to use a Version Control System such as git. Come to this session to learn more about version control.Instructors:Dr Steffen Bollmann, 7T National Imaging Facility FellowDr Saskia Bollmann, UQ Postdoctoral Research FellowRegistration--------------This will be an introduction to version control using the new CAI gitlab server.This event is for the CAI community. Please register for this workshop using your University email and you will receive the connection details once your registration is confirmed.Preparation--------------1. Please login to cai-gitlab.cai.uq.edu.au (connection via VPN necessary) to create your account.2.
