Course Summary

A digital twin is a term used to describe a digital replica of a product in use. This idea is made possible by growing sensor ubiquity, product connectivity, computational power, and data storage. It is feasible to use analysis and simulations of various scenarios for maintenance and to support the creation of the next generation of products by having a duplicate of each individual product in use and being able to monitor the health of each product and component in real-time.

This course aims to provide participants with knowledge and understanding of the Digital Twin concept, as well as an introduction to the tools and methods used to create a Digital Twin. The course includes a mix of theory, methods, and tools for Digital Twins, which are applied in the case of implementing and operating a digital replica of a product.

For this introductory course, basic knowledge of modelling and simulation is assumed.
